अभिनेत्री रिया चक्रवर्ती ने मुंबई पुलिस से अनुरोध किया है कि उन्हें और उनके परिवार को सुरक्षा दी जाए, क्योंकि उनके जीवन को खतरा है। अपने दावे को साबित करने के लिए रिया ने कुछ वीडियो भी साझा किए हैं। गुरुवार को रिया ने इंस्टाग्राम पर जो वीडियो साझा किए, उसमें बिल्डिंग परिसर में उनके पिता को संवाददाता घेरे हुए हैं। एक अन्य वीडियो में इमारत का चौकीदार कह रहा है कि जब उसने मीडिया के लोगों को रोकने की कोशिश की तो उसे घायल कर दिया गया।
इससे पहले, गुरुवार को ही रिया के दिवंगत प्रेमी सुशांत सिंह राजपूत के पिता के.के. सिंह ने मीडिया में एक वीडियो जारी कर खुले तौर पर घोषणा की थी कि रिया उनके बेटे को जहर दे रही थी और वही सुशांत की कातिल है। 15 सेकंड के इस वीडियो में, सिंह ने सीबीआई से रिया और उसके साथियों को गिरफ्तार करने की भी मांग की।
इंस्टाग्राम पर वीडियो साझा करते हुए रिया ने लिखा, "यह मेरी बिल्डिंग के कंपाउंड के अंदर का है। इस वीडियो में जो शख्स हैं, वह मेरे पिता इंद्रजीत चक्रवर्ती (रिटायर्ड आर्मी ऑफिसर) हैं। हम ईडी, सीबीआई के साथ जांच में सहयोग करने के लिए अपने घर से निकलने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं।"

दूसरी पोस्ट में रिया ने अपने अपार्टमेंट के चौकीदार राम का एक वीडियो अपलोड किया। राम ने दावा किया है कि मीडिया के लोगों ने उसे घायल कर दिया।
रिया ने लिखा, "राम पिछले 10 वर्षो से मेरी बिल्डिंग के चौकीदार हैं। उन्हें चोट लगी है, मीडिया के लागों ने पीटा था। मीडिया के लोगों ने मेरी बिल्डिंग के कंपाउंड में घुसने की कोशिश की, चौकीदार और मेरे पिता को चोट पहुंचाई है। क्या यह अपराध नहीं है? इसके लिए कौन जिम्मेदार है? क्या कोई कानून है? क्या हम बर्बर हैं?"
रिया ने आगे लिखा, "संबंधित अधिकारी कृपया ध्यान देंगे, इस इमारत में बच्चे और बुजुर्ग भी रहते हैं। या यही वह सिस्टम है जिसमें हम रहते हैं।"
सुशांत 14 जून को अपने बांद्रा स्थित आवास में मृत पाए गए थे और उनकी मौत की जांच सीबीआई द्वारा की जा रही है।.
