भारतीय टीम के कप्तान विराट कोहली ने महेंद्र सिंह धोनी के संन्यास पर कहा है कि इस पूर्व कप्तान ने जो किया है वो हर किसी के दिल में रहेगा। धोनी ने शनिवार को अपने इंस्टाग्राम पर एक पोस्ट के जरिए संन्यास का ऐलान किया।
इस पर कोहली ने इंस्टाग्राम पर एक पोस्ट करते हुए धोनी की तारीफ की और कहा धोनी का योगदान न भुलाने वाला है।

कोहली ने लिखा, "हर क्रिकेटर के सफर का एक दिन अंत होता है, लेकिन जब आपका कोई करीबी इस तरह का फैसला लेता है तो आप भावनात्मक रूप से ज्यादा महसूस करते हैं। आपने जो इस देश के लिए किया है वो हर किसी के दिल में रहेगा, लेकिन मैंने आपसे जो सम्मान और प्यार पाया है वो मेरे साथ ही रहेगा। पूरे विश्व ने आपकी उपलब्धियां देखी हैं मैंने आपको देखा है।"
कोहली ने धोनी से ही कप्तानी के गुर सीखे हैं और मैदान पर कई बार उन्हें धोनी से मदद लेते हुए देखा गया है।
धोनी ने अपने संन्यास की तमाम अटकलों पर स्वतंत्रता दिवस के दिन विराम लगा दिया।
मास्टर ब्लास्टर सचिन तेंदुलकर ने धोनी के सन्यास की खबर सुनने के बाद अपने ट्विटर पर अपना और धोनी का फोटो लगाते हुए लिखा, "'तुम्हारा भारतीय क्रिकेट में योगदान अभूतपूर्व है। 2011 में विश्व कप जीतना मेरा जिंदगी का सबसे खास पल है। आपको और आपके परिवार को दूसरी पारी के लिए बहुत-बहुत शुभकामनाएं।"

धोनी ने देश के 74वें स्वतंत्रता दिवस पर संन्यास का ऐलान किया है।
वहीं सहवाग के जोड़ीदार रहे गौतम गंभीर ने ट्वीट किया, "इंडिया-ए से भारतीय टीम तक। हमारी पूरा सफर सवालों, कोमा, ब्लैंक और एक्सक्लेमेशन मार्क से भरा रहा। अब जब आपने अपने अध्याय को खत्म कर दिया, मैं आपको अनुभव से कह सकता हूं कि नया सफर रोमांचक होगा। यहां डीआरएस की सीमाएं नहीं हैं। आप शानदार खेले माही।"
